THE KILLERS - "Hot Fuss"

Brandon Flowers, vocalista y tecladista, David Brent Keuning, guitarrista, Mark Stoermer, bajista y Ronald Vannucci Jr baterista componen la imponente banda del momento, The Killers. Estos muchachos de Las Vegas, que hace tiempo que cambiaron los viejos bares de mala muerte que solían frecuentar drac queens y travestis por estadios repletos de jóvenes eufóricos, tuvieron su gran comienzo alla por el año 2005 cuando sacaron su disco debut "Hot fuss". Este trabajo presenta once gran canciones de indie rock, desde el bizarro y confuso amorío en "Somebody told me" hasta la historia de un homicidio contado por partes en "Jenny was a friend of mine" y "Midnight show", estos chicos parecen no hacerse problema en desmenuzar o enmarañar la historia contada dependiendo exclusivamente de su voluntad. Las letras llegan a su máximo apogeo en el coro del tema "All this things i´ve done" donde reprochan y descargan con tinte político la frase "I´ve got soul but i´m not a soldier", en medio del clima de guerra constante que envuelve a su país hoy en día. Otra de las virtudes de este grupo (y de este disco) es su gran potencial musical, la combinacion de sólo cuatro instrumentos no tiene nada que envidiarle a otras bandas, demostrando que un riff pegadizo de guitarra puede hacer a una canción en "Mr. Brightside".
